This year’s South by Southwest (SXSW) festival will celebrate artists from the islands as part of their Sounds of the World showcase.

Ranging from dancehall to soca, music of the Caribbean will take the stage on Friday, March 20, alongside African artists for their double-stage show. The “Sounds of Africa” showcase will be its first, and is expected to feature Dbanj, Ice Prince, Samini, Victoria Kimani, and many others.

“Sounds from the Caribbean” lineup includes none other than international Dancehall artist Sean Paul and Soca King, Machel Montano. Other artists performing are: Gyptian, Laza Morgan, and singer/songwriter Nyla.

SXSW is an annual media festival in Austin, TX,  that hosts music, film and interactive events and conferences. Dates run this year March 13-22, 2015. Check out their website for tickets and more info.
