Potent NEXT: Annalie Prime

Today, POTENT debuts our new video series called NEXT, highlighting up-and-coming artists, innovators, and tastemakers around the Caribbean and throughout the diaspora.

The first episode features Trinidadian singer-songwriter Annalie Prime. Last year the talented newcomer released the catchy tune, “Guns of Hysteria”, reaching Apple Music’s Best of the Week Playlist and highlighted on dozens of music sites and blogs.

Her confident songwriting, baby-doll vocals, and gifted ability to create a synergy of modern folk, pop, and island flavor is set to catapult her on an unstoppable trajectory.

We met up with her at San Fernando Hill where she talked more about her distinctive sound, her inspiration behind penning her hit song, and her wish to one day collab with soca giants Bunji Garlin and Patrice Roberts.
