Freelance Content Writers

POTENT Magazine seeks fresh and emerging writers, as well as experienced content creators to be a part of our growing editorial team.

Write 1-3 articles monthly on our digital platform, www.potentmagazine.com and contribute at least 1 article per issue (we publish triannually, or 3 times a year). Applicants must have the ability to meet deadlines, pitch stories, and produce original content.

Required Experience & Technical Skills

  • Prior experience writing and/or editing for a magazine, newspaper, or digital media environment.
  • Strong writing and storytelling skills, with ability to hone POTENT’s voice and presentation.
  • Exhibit strong research skills.
  • Experience with WordPress CMS.
  • Knowledgeable of Caribbean culture and Caribbean diasporic brands.
  • Team-oriented and show dedication to a start-up publication.
  • Well-versed in AP style guidelines.

Digital Media Sales Director

POTENT Magazine seeks a media strategist who understands the digital market.

Our ideal candidate has not only sales experience but an entrepreneurial spirit that understands the importance of investment and building lasting relationships within the industry.

Only apply if you:

  • Have expert knowledge of Caribbean and diasporic brands
  • Understand nuances of the Caribbean market and its customers
  • Know how to leverage and build symbiotic relationships for growth and success
  • Challenge current media advertising trends & delivers new opportunities for the Potent brand
  • Have a MINIMUM of 2 years’ sale experience
  • Have demonstrated success of achieving sales goals & closing new business
  • Have experience in print (newspaper/magazine) and digital/mobile advertising
  • Creative, Strategic, Loyal, Conscientious, Disciplined, & Resourceful
  • A bilingual speaker and writer is a plus (Spanish, French, Haitian Creole)

This is a commission-based position.
